Resources

On this page we will point you to some resources on the web that will improve and deepen you Mac knowledge. We will set up links to these sites so you can go there directly, but one our first training screencast will show you how to use something called an RSS aggregator(it’s just a way to get all the news you are interested in located at one place) to notifications when these(and others you may choose) resources updated their content.

The Maccast
Maccast ImageThis is podcast(also a web log) about “All Things Macintosh”. Hosted by Adam Christianson this is a great weekly source of information about Apple products and the Macintosh community. Adam has a wonderfully winsome way of talking to us and letting us feel as if we’re part of the podcast. One of my “must listen” podcasts that I look forward to each week(Kenny).

ScreenCastsOnline
The “MacDaddy”(pun intended) of all Macintosh screencasts. A screencast is a video instruction podcast that you can watch on your Mac, iPod, or Apple TV. The host for this show is Don McAllister. He’s based out of England and he has tutorials on many software packages and most Apple hardware. There are two “flavors” of Screencasts Online, one is free and the other is a paid subscription. We strongly suggest you pony up for the subscription based content. You won’t be disappointed.

MacBreak Weekly
Macbreak Weekly ImageA weekly audio podcast about goings on in the Macintosh world. This is an irreverent romp thru the week’s Mac news with a panel that consists of Scott Bourne, Andy Ihnatko, Alex Lindsay, and Merlin Mann. Hosted by Leo Laporte they guys(and the occasional gal) have fun with each other while keeping us up to date about Mac issues. There’s lots of opinion, good natured jabs, good old fashioned humor, and great insight into the world of Macintosh. Another one of my(Kenny) weekly must listens.
